Archive storage

What can be placed in archive storage?

Confidential records from Solicitors, Doctor Surgeries, Care Homes, Insurance, Accountants, Shipping & Transport, Manufacturing, Restaurant Groups, Education. Bespoke storage for Lloyd George Files, Wills & Deeds.

How long can documents be placed in archive storage for?

For as long as customer needs dependent upon the individual regulatory stipulations. The norm is 6 years. I have some that are 25 years. Wills, deeds & GP patient records are all stored indefinitely.

Do you offer document storage for medical practitioners/surgeries?

We store both Lloyd George and A4 foolscrap files with a full indexing service.

Is there a limit on the number of archive storage boxes I can have?

We will accept customers with 1 box up to 20000 boxes. There is no minimum monthly storage fee.

How do I know my documents are being stored securely?

Documents are stored in line with data compliance protocols and physical documents are stored at our secure, fireproof facility.

What is the difference between archiving and backing-up data?

A back-up is a copy of current data whilst archiving involves storing data that you must retain for certain periods in order to comply with regulation.

Self-storage

Will I have to pay a deposit for self-storage?

Yes, we require 1 month deposit for self-storage units.

How much can I fit in a self-storage unit?

Our most popular size is a 20ft Container, which gives you 160 sqft (about the size of a small garage). We have a variety of other sizes available, please contact our office for further details or use the space calculator form.

Are your storage units fire and waterproof?

Yes, our storage units are fire and waterproof to provide complete peace of mind your items are safe.

Will my belongings be insured?

No, not automatically. However we advise you to take out insurance for your belongings in the storage unit, we can help you get a quote.

When can I access my storage unit?

You can access your storage unit 24/7.

Will I need to purchase a padlock or is one supplied?

You will need to purchase a padlock. We have high-security locks for sale. Please speak to a member of staff for details.

What size units are available?

20ft Ground & Upper (160 sq ft). 40ft Ground (320 sq ft). 10ft Ground (75 sq ft). 8ft Ground (50 sq ft). Our Deep storage units are available in: 25 sq ft – 35 sq ft – 50 sq ft

How much notice is required for me to leave?

We require one months notice for you to vacate our storage units.

Do you sell the boxes to store my items in?

Yes, if you require boxes for storing your items we can supply you with them.

What length contracts do you offer?

The minimum contract length we offer is 1 month and we offer contracts up to 12 months.

What happens after I book my storage unit online?

After you have made your booking online, your storage unit will be reserved for your move-in date. Before your move-in date you will receive details of the pin required to access the site and other important information.

Can I book a storage unit over the phone?

Is it safe to store my belongings in a storage unit?

Yes, our storage units are fire and waterproof. Our sites are also monitored 24/7 with CCTV and are protected by several security measures we have in place.

Is there anything that can't be stored in a unit?

Some exclusions do apply including:

  • Explosives and firearms
  • Compressed oils or gasses
  • Flammable liquid and gasses
  • Counterfeit or stolen goods
  • Food or perishable goods
  • Birds, fish, animals or any other living creature

Confidential Waste

How much confidential waste does a bin hold?

A confidential waste bin holds approximately 80 litres of waste.

How much confidential waste does a sack hold?

A confidential waste sack holds approximately 40 litres

What do I need to do before having a hard drive destructed?

Delete all data from the drive and remove any sensitive information.

What is the paper waste used for once it has been shredded?

Waste paper is turned into recycled toilet paper that is distributed around the UK.

Do I need to remove paper clips and staples from documents before they can be shredded?

Plastic wallets need to be removed. Folders, paperclips & staples are fine.

Who can benefit from using confidential waste services?

A wide range of businesses can benefit from utilising confidential waste services including financial services, law firms and medical practices.

Do you offer collection from home?

Yes, we offer an ad-hoc and regular collection service. This can include collection from your home office.

How secure are your confidential waste destruction services?

Our confidential waste destruction services are extremely secure. We comply with all data protection regulations, our staff are vigorously security vetted and you will receive certification of destruction for your waste as proof.
